Survey Pretest Writing

This paper presents the findings of a pretest analysis of a survey designed to examine how media coverage influences different people’s perceptions of initial public offerings. This survey was taken by seven classmates enrolled at Roger Williams University as part of my research methods course. This pretest aimed to assess clarity, comprehension, and stability of the instrument for the target population. I used data collected over eleven questions with three categories: nominal, categorical, and Likert-scale items. This survey revealed several strengths but also several areas that require improvement. Responses indicated that respondents found that most of the survey was clear, though certain questions with IPO familiarity and media source identification may benefit from expanded response options and improved definitions.
